Our nature journal group met at Will Rogers State Historic Park to journal the fire recovery. Will Rogers himself loved eucalypts, and many are planted there. I noticed that the epicormic growth and the crown sprouts were all being ravaged, and took a closer look.

Bodie and I went for a wander around the local cemetery. One of the things I find fascinating is the number of headstones (or headplanks, in this case) with minimal information on them. I’ve sketched a few of them before. At least Richard Cregg’s has a time frame on it. Another very old one just says “Carne. Daughter of John.”
