I’ve had olive oil on my shopping list for over a week, but the good-priced stuff is at a store I don’t regularly frequent, and there hasn’t been a convenient occasion to go there. So I’ve been eyeing the diminishing volume every day as I cook, and repeating to myself “I have to buy olive oil.”

Then last night as I was falling asleep I suddenly remembered, apropos of nothing, that I had two bottles stashed in another cupboard. Score! I love it when my brain pulls a useful memory out of the subconscious filing cabinet and says “here you go!” Thank you, brain!

I happened to have the right hue in my palette (Indian Yellow) to paint the golden oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus citrinopileatus) that graced our pizza.

I rarely eat fish, but yesterday the salmon sounded good. Unfortunately it was a bit overcooked and tough 😩 So much for that splurge!
