Miner’s lettuce is really tasty! I think the flower stalks will vary with the degree of moisture they can access, but this is just a thought based on a vague memory. I’ve found them under oak trees by Lake Cachuma and at the end of the Chumash Trail past the rocks as you head into the trail where all is overgrown with poison oak.
