Where we are, it seems likely they’re from the same hive; that it would be a real coincidence if bees from several hives found their way to forage here at the same time.
They could well be from the same hive as they share the information of a good foraging location with their sisters back home. The dark colouration is the ‘wild type’ coming through as they will likely have different fathers, and there is a lot of genetic variability within the same ‘family’ of bees 🙂
