I’m sick with a cold. Instead of going anywhere today—the groceries can wait!—I hunkered down with a box of tissues and played with pencils and paint.

Just a simple thank you tonight, to everyone who has given love, art supplies, clothes, money and suggestions. We’re feeling it.

“Merry” — a word we only bring out of the word closet at this time of the year. Why is that? I think I’ll start wishing my friends “merry birthday” and see how that goes.
