I like the generic Whole Foods packaging for their black lentils, with the peekaboo window showing the product. I also like the price; I haven’t found better, locally or online (not sponsored!) Tonight’s dinner: Umami Mushroom and Lentil Stew. Mm-mmm.

Prepping lunch for my Santa Cruz Island trip with the Channel Island Nature Journalers. First time I’m going there, and I’m excited!

I went to a new-to-me Mexican restaurant for lunch; my meal was delicious. I wondered at the preponderance of skulls in the decor, until I looked up the meaning of the establishment’s name and it all made sense.

I very (very) rarely eat or drink out, but today I had to kill half a day in the city, so I enjoyed a light meal at Breakfast by Salt’s Cure. 💯 recommend the avocado toast.
