Book group meetings are one of my monthly highlights, and I enjoy spending a few hours afterwards trying to distill our conversation into a page of sketch notes.
I have not been able to get the hang of sketch-noting. It makes sense that you do it afterwards. It would be easier to figure out how to lay out the page.
Hi Kit, doing it ‘live’ is a skill I’d love to develop, but honestly I get a little stressed just thinking about it! This page took me 3.5 hours (the meeting itself was 2 hours, during which I scribbled notes), and I got lots of help from thenounproject.org for icon suggestions. For me it’s a valuable exercise in distillation and layout, neither of which I’m able to do on the spot during a wide ranging discussion among 13 people.
